Electrical Gremlins And Old Homes

When I bought an old house because I fell in love with the charm, I was completely unprepared for some of the issues that come along with homes of that age. One of the biggest surprises to me was the electrical issues I experienced. Everything from having to unplug everything in the kitchen to use a compressor in the garage to tripped breakers from a single air conditioner left me frustrated and confused. I called an electrician and learned a lot during his inspection. If you are thinking about buying an old house, this blog is for you. I hope that my knowledge and first-hand experience can help you avoid some of the disasters that I faced.

Buying An All-Electric Car? Two Reasons To Install An Electric Charger At Home

Purchasing an electric vehicle comes with a lot of perks. Not only do you get to avoid rising fuel costs but you can also feel good about the fact that you're driving a vehicle that is not emitting as many pollutants into the environment. However, now that you've made the decision to buy an all-electric car you must think about how you'll keep it charged up. There may be a number of charging stations in your local community but if you want the ultimate in convenience, take a look at why you should have an electric charger installed at your home.

Wake Up & Drive

Charging your car overnight while you are in the comfort of your bed is an incredible benefit. Imagine arriving home from work or other errands and being able to simply plug your car in and let it get the necessary charge during the night hours. You'll then be able to get up in the morning and drive without having to worry about finding an open charging station in the surrounding area.

Utility rates tend to be lower overnight simply because there is less usage. Your car can get a full charge as you sleep and you get to save the time you would ordinarily have to spend at a public charger. The convenience is absolutely priceless and just knowing your vehicle will be ready to go for the next day gives you the freedom to relax in total peace and serenity.

Extend Your Battery Life

Installing an electric charger in your home is also a great way to extend the life of your battery. The quick charges that you would normally get at a public station may not be as effective as the slower, more methodical charge you get when powering up from the house. More battery life means you can go longer periods of time on the road without having to worry about whether or not you have enough juice to reach your destination. This also contributes to the overall enjoyment you experience each time you get behind the wheel!

There's absolutely nothing like the independence that comes with having an electric charger installed at your very own home. If at all possible, have your charger installed before you take ownership of your vehicle. By doing this, you'll have everything you need already in place to relish in your new car and maintain it to the fullest.
